SUPER HIGH SCHOOL-LEVEL: Fighter, mixed martial artist, wrestler; all are suitable title that perfectly surmise that Sakura is a well-versed martial artist (for simplicity's sake I will stick with martial artist). As a "Super High School-Level" holder, she has met the following requirements: a) you must be currently enrolled at a high school and b) you must super-excel at your field of expertise. It's easy enough to fulfill the first one but Sakura's ability in martial arts has been deemed "super", proven by reigning supreme in the fighting world as an undefeated champion with a 400 win streak. To say Sakura is formidable fighter may be understating it as her sheer muscle power alone exceeds the strength of your average person. But it is easiest to imagine how strong and focused Sakura is best from Dangan Ronpa If whereby she catapults a classmate through the school with a very powerful and well-timed kick, a feat that already sounds impossible. In the novel, she also notes that she has the highest chance of withstanding the force of an explosion for the sake of her classmates. Given Sakura's physique, it is not unimaginable that she could be able to carry it off but the probability of her dying still renders that suggestion moot. Sakura's strength while insane, also has its limits as shown by her inability to pull of the metal plates that are bolted onto the school's window.

Personality:
Abilities/Powers:❝ Being male or female does not matter. It is my duty to protect our history. Furthermore, it is exactly because I am a woman that I must become stronger than any man. "The title of the strongest person on earth can never be given to a woman"... Silencing the people who think that way requires an overwhelming strength.❞
To excel in martial arts, one must not only be disciplined in body but they must also be disciplined in mind. Throwing punches, powerful punches, can only take one so far. To become a master and to achieve the greatest heights of physical enlightenment, it is integral to know exactly when and where to land these punches that will gain you the most critical of impacts. One glance at Sakura and it's overwhelmingly clear that a punch from her would result in pulverization, not just bruises and broken bones. With a body built like a brick house fortified in steel matched with a face that looks to have weathered through a hundred battles (over 400 to be technical), the title of Super High School-Level Fighter seems only natural a fit for someone of her caliber and having a goal as remarkable as "Strongest Person on Earth" does not seem even remotely unattainable.
Although she currently does hold the aforementioned title that she aspires to, during Sakura's Free Time events with Naegi, it is revealed that she has yet to truly earn it. While Sakura's family has had a dojo with a rich 300 year history of training and producing the greatest of fighters, she has been able to beat even them, winning against her father, the current and revered great master when she was only fourteen. Afterwards, Sakura has been pitted against various athletes and experts around the world and over time was able overcome them. In the professional fighting circles, she was their unsurpassed world champion. Yet outside that circle, there remains an adversary that Sakura has not been able to gain the upper hand on. This one single man is the rare person whose powerful punches take him to levels that not even Sakura—a fighter who has studiously perfected every stance of every style—has been able to reach.
"Lucky punches" are simply that. They are attacks that unintentionally hit its intended target with no thought as to how or why. It is a rare feat and not something anyone would choose to rely on. Nevertheless there exists a prodigy whose style could be said to be made up only of "lucky punches". He does not miss, not ever and barely does he even need to train. He is a genius filled to the brim with talent and to add further insult to injury is who Sakura undeniably considers to be the worthiest possessor of "Strongest Person on Earth" despite his considerable lack of interest for it. For Sakura, a prodigy reinforced by hard work and vigorous training, she naturally feels mocked by this level of "luck". Worse still than having to acknowledge his indisputable strength, is acknowledging that this man was also her former... lover. It is a vulnerability she does not allow herself nor forgive and is thus determined to one day, rightfully earn the title of "Strongest Person on Earth" from him fairly. She cannot ever lose sight of this goal and awaits the day that Kenichiro, the true holder of this title, recovers from his terminal illness that has left him unable.❝ I cannot help but recall his words even now. He said my true nature was a feminine one... I shall carry his words with me always.❞
The story of her and Kenichiro is a dear one and it is revealed in Dangan Ronpa If that she must deeply entrust anyone she might tell it to. However, in her efforts to be deserving of Kenichiro's title, she has transformed herself in many ways; losing her femininity from her extreme training being the most notable.
Feminine is not the first word one would use to describe Sakura as shown by Naegi's instinctive urge to blurt out "you're a man, aren't you?" and by Ishimaru's interjection that Sakura and Aoi should not share a room together as they're man and woman. While Ishimaru does not have Naegi's keen sense of impending danger, Sakura does not respond with anything but calm correction, slightly confused by his mistake. Although it seems difficult to offend her, Sakura can be quite sensitive at times. Underneath her muscled exterior, a maiden's heart beats inside her and she'll remind anyone who assumes she isn't all woman of that fact, even if that person is herself. Exemplified best by her hesitance to talk about Kenichiro in fear that Naegi would laugh at her, Sakura is not unaware of her appearance so she assumes it would be more than odd that someone with her features could possess such delicateness. But she realizes there is no shame in being a woman, only another kind of strength.
There are many sides to Sakura that do not seem readily apparent especially if one cannot get past her appearance. Although Sakura would claim that her mental capacity is nowhere near developed as her body, she considers her area of expertise to be a scientific one. Even in more commonplace situations, Sakura has shown remarkable moments of clarity and insight that has proven to be more helpful than many of her classmates. Admittedly, her mystery solving skills leave something to be desired but she possesses more than enough mental aptitude to be perceived as one of the more logical and reasonable thinkers of her class. Rather than be quick to accuse the most likely of suspects, Sakura opts to review the facts as the class presents them, deducing what may have transpired rather than conjuring up far-fetched scenarios of her own. Sakura has quite the natural mental resoluteness, even her speech has a 'wiser-beyond-their-years' characteristic to it, which shows that she is not simply a brute with no brain but rather someone who is deeply contemplative and steadfast.
Even when thrown into the despair of being trapped in Hope's Peak Academy, continually pestered by Monobear's perpetual insistence for a mutual killing among the students, Sakura rarely loses her cool even in the face of such overwhelming pressure. She easily assesses the despondency of her situation and her fellow classmates', reaching to the obvious (but dreaded) conclusion that the only way to survive is to proceed forth with Monobear's ludicrous demands. To get the answers one seeks, one must face the challenge head-on. There is no satisfaction in a fight left abandoned and similar to how strict Sakura's training regime is, should she or any of the other students concede... then all is lost.
However, viewing her inner strength to be infinitely weaker than her outer strength caused Sakura—for the first time in her life—to concede.
Unbeknownst to the other students, Sakura acts as the mastermind's mole. With no loyalty to bind her to her classmates and believing she would be too unsociable to create meaningful allies, Sakura puts herself and the fate of her clan's dojo first and aligns herself with the mastermind. She falls prey to Monobear's control after the sadistic robot offers everyone a motive to commit murder. The motive coming in the form of a short, vague clip that implied that something grave had happened to the people the students hold dearest to them. It successfully enticed each and every one of them to demand answers for what exactly could have had occurred. Understandably, after watching hers, Sakura is rendered confused. How could her entire family of expert fighters be led to ruin in such a short amount of time? How could the Oogami dojo that has lasted for more than 300 years be destroyed? There are few things that could cause her to waver and this was one of those things.
Weak to Monobear's temptation, she secretly accepts the role of the mole, a role which required her to initiate the mutual killings should a deadlock situation occur. Much to her surprise however, the killings begin without her aid. They begin and they continue, a seemingly endless cycle of despair that causes Sakura to spend her days watching the weak be manipulated, dying by the whims of the strong and the deranged. As the number of those who die exceeds the number of fingers she can count on one hand, Sakura finally realizes her mistake. Her loyalties, from the beginning... they should have lain with her classmates—no, her precious friends all along.
Her mind was weak as was her heart. Forgiveness would not be hers should she simply apologize for her misdeeds. Sakura knew this and decided upon the ultimate sacrifice to atone for her reprehensible choice. To abide by the mastermind's orders, she would indeed take someone's life... and that someone would be herself.
Sakura admits to her intentions in a suicide letter that she writes to her closet friend, Aoi Asahina, but due to meddling far beyond the scope of Sakura's foresight her intentions do not reach her friend quickly enough. As someone who has not been able to maintain too many meaningful relationships in life, Sakura (much to her own surprise) is protective of many, if not all, the students. Hence why her betrayal could be perceived as one of the more unexpected twists in the game. Sakura is deeply regretful that she could not protect those who are no longer with them and is intimidatingly defensive for many of the female students, even for Touko Fukawa who had been nothing but hostile towards her. But there's only one person Sakura would willingly lay down her life for a thousand times over and that is Aoi.
As Sakura's dearest friend, Sakura trusts Aoi to repeat her final words to those who remain alive. Sakura cherishes Aoi more than her own life. Rare is it to find someone who shares similar interests and cares more for what what is inside a person than what is on the outside. Sakura grew to care for everyone but she loved Aoi most of all. And it is for Aoi that Sakura chose to end her own life. After Sakura's act of treachery, her life had become irredeemable but Aoi's had not. Motivated by the thought that Aoi could live her life, cheerful and free, with their friends only made it clearer that taking responsibility for her actions was the right and irrefutable choice.
But in spite of the misunderstandings that arise, Sakura does not simply leave herself to die either. She enacts one final feat of rebelliousness that hinders the mastermind's plans and presents her friends with a new opportunity for answers. She fires the first shot, landing her final and most critical attack, that would lead the mastermind to their downfall and her friends to their uprising.❝ Oogami-san reminded us all... We are not enemies that must fight each other... We are friends that should work together! ❞

[ positioned sturdily, the feed opens to showcase a very stoic young woman. she has one eye focused on the camera making sure everything looks... turned on. since it appears to be so, she finally begins to speak. ]
Haven.
[ and immediately pauses... not for dramatic effect but rather she's generally awkward and straightforward when it comes to suitable introductions. moving on, however. ]
My name is Oogami Sakura... and I would like to volunteer my services. [ there's a weariness in her voice but she proceeds forth and maintains an unperturbed facade. having experience in being a similar situation before, it somewhat exhausts her to live it all over again... though that is neither here nor there. ]
I have been made aware that our situation has greatly improved as of late, yet resources continue to be scarce and many mysteries remain unresolved. It would be unwise for us to be content with our current state of affairs however it is neither my intention nor my nature to claim I would be much use on these matters. I fear I am not.... well-versed in these sorts of things. Although I myself may be ill-suited for these tasks, I believe that there are many others who are more than capable in handling and investigating them instead. Thus I offer my services to them. It is my understanding that in Haven North our questions could be answered and other basic necessities could be salvaged but it is a dangerous place to venture in alone... which is why I believe I am more than qualified in making a suitable bodyguard. [ she doesn't quite know or find it appropriate in her speech to make the camera pan out but it's fairly obvious she could fight monsters if she were so inclined to without needing to showcase her formidable physique. ]
For anyone who has previously feared harm would come to them, I will promise to properly defend you. Solutions to our predicament is of the utmost importance and I will do what I can to help ensure our survival.
That... is all. [ it's been a while she's conveyed so much in one sitting but the network seems the most effective in reaching out to the broader community and... she had a lot to say, surprisingly. ] Thank you for your time. [ though she doesn't turn off the device, instead she shuts both her eyes in what looks seems like silent contemplation, awaiting any requests. ]
Sample Entry Two:
There is no taste in her mouth when she awakens, no texture. All that assaults her senses is a continuous, irritable buzz in her ear and the warm sunlight that sets against her face. It is a startle and a shock not simply because it acts as a rude means of awakening but because she should not be able to notice any of these things in the first place. She had closed her eyes in an attempt to enter an eternal slumber thus it is should have been impossible for her to simply arise at all. Had... she failed? She clenches her fist as the image of a smiling girl surrounded by friends, all hope and gaiety, turns into tears. Had she failed them? Had she failed... her?
As the alarm continues to ring, never ending until she makes it end, she waits for the insufferable mascot to appear before her to chide her with an equally insufferable remark about something inconsequential like damaging school property. But it never comes. That is... strange. In fact, everything about her situation had been strange from the beginning, had it not? This room was not her own and when Night Time ended, there was never such a crude and resonant beeping to stir them about. And when had she ever awakened to the sun's rays...? The windows! They... were not barred?! How...? What had happened?!
Leaping up from the bed, Sakura reaches the windows hurriedly, inspecting the lack of metal plates that had continually posed as a quandary for the entirety of their stay at Hope's Peak. Did... this mean everyone had escaped? Had she managed to survive alongside with them and accompany them into the outside world? But as she waits for her theory to be actualized, just as she had waited for Monobear to materialize, nothing of that nature happened. There were people in the room with her, that Sakura had failed to notice initially, occupying the other five beds that surrounded hers but they were no one Sakura recognized. Some looked much older than any "Super High-School Level" student would have any right to be meaning... well, she did not have the faintest idea as to what that meant. As she diverted her gaze to the window again, it was apparent now that she was not in Hope's Peak anymore... but that was both a blessing cure. If she was not in Hope's Peak Academy anymore then where in heavens was she?
Having been preoccupied with the room, her eyes finally catch the sight of the overwhelming billboard outside the window with a man smiling a false smile as he held out what it appeared to be a gas mask. There was... something eerily familiar about this that Sakura could not place. The slogan did not ease her worries her either. This meant... she was not even in Japan anymore.
"In Haven, we are all safe together..."
As she tries to place relevant meaning in those words, Sakura faintly notices something small in her hand. She had been holding it this entire time so used to the sensation that she had unintentionally ignored it completely. Opening up her palm, what appears inside her grasp is a small vial. It... was the container for the poison she had drunk and it was empty. Her hand immediately reaches for her neck, the discomforting pain of having her blood pushed up into her throat vivid in her mind. She swallows down a gulp of air to push the nonexistent contents back down. If she had cheated death then why was her dying so clear in her mind? Why could she recall it to this extent? Had she truly died or had she been... revived? It was a fairy tale to believe in such miracles but somehow it did not seem completely unreasonable.
... Haven, was it? It was a cruel joke to remind her of her treachery and while Sakura would agree that hell was the only appropriate retribution to await her in the afterlife, she was not sure as to what to make of this location. Haven was not a fiery pit of depravity but only a dim and dark place. However its desolateness was what she found to be terrifying. There was nothing to indicate that she had anything to be concerned about but that was exactly her reason why. She had been in this situation before and to say it gave off the same aura Hope's Peak did would not be inaccurate.
What an appropriate punishment, to escape one prison only to be entrapped by the cells of another. Whether this was the underworld or resurrection, what was clearest to her was that she was trapped again. It was... despair and it threatened to consume her to her core once more. But this time, she would promise herself and she would promise them. This time she would not falter nor deceive. She is not alone and together with these people... She would guarantee her freedom with her own hands.
